An exercise in modifying AllData PPs.xls
This exercise was suggested by one of the "AllData PPs.xls" users. It will add EPS (earnings per start) to each horse's Lifetime stats, in the "Past Performances" view of the spreadsheet. Hopefully, this exercise will give users some ideas for modifying their own personal copy of AllData PPs.
I have uploaded 2 files. The "mnr1226.drf" file is a Bris data file for use in the exercise. The "EPS_addition.rtf" file is a text file that explains the procedures for accomplishing the modification to "AllData PPs.xls.
Note that the text file is in .rtf format (rich text format). This file can be opened in "Wordpad", "MS Word", or any other text editing application that can handle rich text formatting. Opening it in "Notepad" or some other, non-rtf editor, will work but won't look as nice as the other applications and you'll have to do much more scrolling in order to read the instructions.
Make sure you download the "mnr1226.drf" data file into your "C:\Infotran" folder so that AllData PPs.xls can find and load it.

Adding "Conditional Formatting" to AllData
This exercise utilizes the "Conditional Formatting" feature, of Excel, to "highlight" the top three ranked horses in the "Fractionals" portion of the "Pace Ratings" view, in AllData. This tutorial was suggested by "johndrake", one of our users.
Note that the text file is in .rtf format (rich text format). This file can be opened in "Wordpad", "MS Word", or any other text editing application that can handle rich text formatting.
Click the .zip file below, then "unzip" it and open the ".rtf" file in MS Word or similar "rich text" text editor. This file contains screenshots in the .jpg format, so, if your editor doesn't support .jpg images you may have trouble viewing the screenshots.
